Presidents' Day at the Nest

Location: John A. Delaney Student Union

Visit the Military and Veterans Resource Center at "Presidents Day at the Nest" to meet Mitch Mitchell, MVRC Transition Coach, who can answer all of your education benefits questions! 

 

This event is hosted by the Office of Admissions and participants can:

  • Take a campus tour led by an experienced Swoop Squad member. 
  • Explore academic interests with outstanding UNF faculty. 
  • Hear about dozens of ways to get involved in campus life beyond the classroom. 
  • Discover numerous services designed to support student success. 
  • Speak with admissions counselors, financial aid, the Hicks Honors College, academic advisors, housing representatives and many others. 
  • Learn about the various Transformational Learning Opportunities (TLOs) in which UNF students take part.

Transfer Day

Are you a military-affiliated student planning to transfer to UNF? Visit the Military and Veterans Resource Center table during Transfer Day to speak with a Transition Coach who can answer all of your GI Bill ®  questions. We will be visiting state colleges with Admissions on the following dates:

 

  • Thursday, February 7: Santa Fe College, Northwest Campus
  • Tuesday, February 12: Florida State College at Jacksonville, Downtown Campus
  • Wednesday, February 20: St. Johns River State College, St. Augustine Campus

Thinking about starting a franchise business? Attend this free and informative workshop which will cover the basics of franchising. Determine if a franchise business is right for you, discover ways to fund the business and cover initial fees, ask local franchisees the  real  questions weighing on your mind, and much more. The workshop will be led by professionals from The Entrepreneur's Source, the world's largest franchise-coaching organization that provides a "safe space" for clients to explore business ownership.


Included for participants: breakfast, lunch, parking and a copy of the "Your Career 2.0" book.

In honor of Women Veterans Recognition Week, the Military and Veterans Resource Center will place signs across campus recognizing outstanding Osprey veterans who have served. You can view all of the women veterans featured by picking up a free campus map from the MVRC (2/1100) beginning on Monday, March 11. If you see a sign on the way to class, snap a picture and share on social media using #ospreyveterans!

March 13 is Military Appreciation at UNF Market Day! Visit the Military and Veterans Resource Center booth beginning at 11:00 am to score a FREE t-shirt to show your support for Osprey veterans. (Supplies are limited to the first 100 students.) Plus, enjoy delicious free food and military-friendly vendors. Remember to take a selfie using our Instagram square and tag #weswoopforvets!

CONGRATULATIONS SPRING 2019 GRADUATES! In honor of your hard work, the Military and Veterans Resource Center would like to present graduating active duty military, ROTC, veterans and reservists with a special red, white and blue graduate cord! Cords will be presented to you during a recognition ceremony on Wednesday, April 24 at 12:00 p.m. in the Talon Room (Bldg. 16, Osprey Commons, 4th Floor). 

 

Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate your achievement with us, and refreshments will be provided. There is no charge for a cord, but you must R.S.V.P. to reserve one!
