Don't miss the UNF Swoop Troupe Theatre Co. as they perform Rodger and Hammerstein's The Sound of Music. On Saturday, Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. they will host a *special show* for military members. "The Sound of Music Military Friends and Family Show" is a FREE event where military personnel are invited to come in or out of uniform and enjoy the show with their friends and family. After the show, they will be recognized for their service to the country.

Watch the Icemen take on the Fort Wayne Komets on Friday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. Purchase your tickets through SVA to receive a special T-shirt. Funds raised will be used to support the Student Veterans of America and their initiatives on campus for veterans.

Learn how to run a business solely from your smartphone. We'll show you the apps and tech you will need to always be responsive to customers and get more done with less.

 

This workshop is led by UNF professor Greg Gutkowski and is open to all military, veterans and military spouses in the area for free through the MVRC and Army veteran Bob Jacoby. You do not have to be a current UNF student to participate.

At Ease is a free event offering ten-minute massage therapy sessions for military-affiliated students to help reduce their stress and optimize their well being. Registration is required and limited. In honor of Women Veterans Recognition Week, the Military and Veterans Resource Center will place signs across campus recognizing outstanding Osprey veterans who have served. You can view all of the women veterans featured by picking up a free campus map from the MVRC (2/1100) beginning on Monday, March 9. If you see a sign on the way to class, snap a picture and share on social media using #ospreyveterans!

Lunch and learn with Dr. Tiffany Kershner who is the university's matchmaker for extraordinary funding opportunities. It is her mission to inform undergraduate and graduate students, as well as alumni, about available fellowships and help guide them in completing applications.

 

What is a fellowship, you ask? Fellowships are nationally competitive and well-regarded awards that provide funding to allow select students and alumni specific opportunities in the U.S. and abroad.  Some of these include advanced academic research, post-undergraduate degree based study, and short-term employment.

Congratulations spring 2020 graduates! In honor of your hard work, the Military and Veterans Resource Center would like to present graduating active duty military, ROTC, veterans, and reservists with a red, white and blue graduate cord. The MVRC will also present graduating military spouses with a military-affiliated student pin and ribbon to wear with their regalia. These special items will be presented to Ospreys during a recognition ceremony on Friday, April 24 at 11:00 a.m. in the Talon Room (Bldg. 16, Osprey Commons, 4th Floor). 

 

Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate your achievement with us, and refreshments will be provided. There is no charge for a cord or pin, but you must R.S.V.P. via the link above. Include your name, N number, and branch of service and/or indicate if you are a military spouse.
