Welcome back, Ospreys! In honor of the first day of summer B classes, the Military and Veterans Resource Center will be handing out delicious fancy cupcakes from Sweet By Holly in exchange for answering a military-and-UNF-themed trivia question! You can double the YUM by checking in or liking our page (@UNFVetsCenter) to receive a second sweet treat. This event is open to all students - you do NOT need to be military-affiliated to participate.

This free, one-day workshop is designed to help military-affiliated entrepreneurs and business professionals enhance their presentation skills and connect with the correct audiences. Attendees will learn how to identify their customers needs, explain services effectively, and practice simple tricks to overcome nervousness. They will leave with two speeches they can use immediately to attract more customers. Free lunch will be provided.

Congratulations summer 2019 graduates! Commencement is just around the corner, and the Military and Veterans Resource Center would like to present graduating active duty military, veterans, Guard, reservists, and ROTC students with a red, white and blue graduate cord to wear on the big day. Grads can stop by the resource center between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm the week leading up to graduation to pick up a free cord.

Onboarding: an Orientation for Military-Affiliated Students

The UNF Military & Veterans Resource Center is holding an orientation specifically designed for incoming active duty military, veterans, reservists, military spouses and military children following Transfer Orientation on August 9. 

 

You will get a chance to:

  • meet the VA Certifying Officials
  • learn the steps you need to take in order to use your G.I. Bill benefits at UNF
  • learn about veteran specific benefits such as priority registration, scholarships and Americana graduate cords
  • tour the resource center

The workshop will be led by professionals from The Entrepreneur's Source, the world's largest franchise-coaching organization that provides a "safe space" for clients to explore business ownership.

In honor of your hard work, the Military and Veterans Resource Center would like to present graduating active duty military, ROTC, veterans and reservists with a special red, white and blue graduate cord! Cords will be presented to you during a recognition ceremony on Friday, November 22 at 12:00 p.m. in the Talon Room (Bldg. 16, Osprey Commons, 4th Floor). 

 

Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate your achievement with us, and refreshments will be provided. There is no charge for a cord, but you must R.S.V.P. to reserve one!
