Lunch & Learn: Individual Tax

Military-affiliated UNF students are invited to attend a Lunch and Learn with accounting professionals on individual taxes. Learn an overview of how individual tax works and new changes in tax law on Tuesday, January 15 at 11 am in the Military and Veterans Resource Center (bldg. 2, room 1100). Lunch is free for attendees.

Military-affiliated UNF students are invited to attend a Lunch and Learn with Gratitude America. Gratitude America provides support for veterans affected by deployment exposures (such as combat related stress and TBI) by conducting meaningful restorative retreats. Learn about upcoming events and more on Tuesday, January 29 at 11 am in the Military and Veterans Resource Center (bldg. 2, room 1100). Lunch is free for attendees.

This free, one-day workshop is designed to help military-affiliated entrepreneurs and business professionals enhance their presentation skills and connect with the correct audiences. Attendees will learn how to identify their customers needs, explain services effectively, and practice simple tricks to overcome nervousness. They will leave with two speeches they can use immediately to attract more customers.

Visit the Military and Veterans Resource Center table during Transfer Day to speak with a Transition Coach who can answer all of your GI Bill ®  questions. We will be visiting state colleges with Admissions on the following dates:

 

  • Thursday, February 7: Santa Fe College, Northwest Campus
  • Tuesday, February 12: Florida State College at Jacksonville, Downtown Campus
  • Wednesday, February 20: St. Johns River State College, St. Augustine Campus

Pelocity empowers students, job seekers and transitioning veterans to maximize their earning potential. Choose the right career, get the right education and connect with the right employer. Learn more about using Pelocity as a GPS for your future on Tuesday, February 12 at 11 am in the Military and Veterans Resource Center (bldg. 2, room 1100). Lunch is free for attendees.

Active duty, veterans and military spouses are invited to attend an informative one-day workshop on franchising. Entrepreneurship Training for Veterans: Franchising will help you decide if a franchise business is right for you, how to finance a franchise, and more. This event is led by professionals from The Entrepreneur's Source and is completely free to attendees through the generosity of Army veteran Robert Jacoby.

 

Parking, breakfast, lunch and the "Your Career 2.0" book are included. Registration is required and will open in late January.

CONGRATULATIONS SPRING 2019 GRADUATES! In honor of your hard work, the Military and Veterans Resource Center would like to present graduating active duty military, ROTC, veterans and reservists with a special red, white and blue graduate cord! Cords will be presented to you during a recognition ceremony on Wednesday, April 24 at 12:00 p.m. in the Talon Room (Bldg. 16, Osprey Commons, 4th Floor). 

 

Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate your achievement with us, and refreshments will be provided. There is no charge for a cord, but you must R.S.V.P. to reserve one!
