Chantel also oversees the MVRC's scholarships for veterans and military dependents. Looking to meet new friends and support a great cause? Student Veterans of America (SVA) membership is open to any and all Ospreys who support veterans' efforts! The club works together to improve leadership skills, sponsor fundraising events, tackle initiatives to make campus even more military-friendly, plan fun social gatherings, and more. Chat with club leadership and learn how to become involved during this information session.

 

Students can attend one of two ways:

  • Virtually through Zoom
  • In-Person in the MVRC (Bldg. 2, Room 1100)
    • Free takeaway lunch will be provided to students attending in person. Masks and social distancing are required.
     

All attendees must register to receive either the Zoom link or a spot during the in-person session.

Do you know how your VA education benefits impact your ability to succeed at UNF? Meet the university's main Certifying Official and Navy veteran, Emily DaBruzzi, during "Know Your C.O.!" This is your chance to ask her anything! She's excited to chat with new and returning students alike to support your journey at UNF. Military dependent students are especially encouraged to attend to take a closer look at resources available to them. Plus - take away a tasty treat!

Virtually meet the MVRC's Assistant Director for Student Veteran Success, Caron Johnson. Caron works with on-campus and off-campus partners to develop opportunities for our military-affiliated students. Caron also coordinates with the Department of Veterans Affairs State Approving Agency for Educational Benefits to maintain our approval for VA Certification of Enrollment, works directly with offices on campus to inform and collaborate regarding our military-affiliated populations needs and attempt to shape policies in the best interest of our population. (Just to name a few things!)

Veterans FL Facilitated Growth Program at UNF

The Military Veterans Resource Center at UNF and Veterans Florida are offering a free program to assist military veteran business owners in the growth of their businesses.

 

The Facilitated Growth Program will be conducted in a seminar style of learning where the facilitators and participants engage in a small group setting. Participants will be able to receive feedback specific to their ventures. Subject matter experts will be invited to the facilitated discussions to provide expertise on key topics.  After each session, participants will spend time with their respective mentors to obtain extended hands-on learning that is critical to success. Additionally, each week participants will work on developing their strategic growth strategy. This 8-week program consisting of three-hour sessions will start the second week of February and end the last week in March of 2021.
