Welcome back, Ospreys! In honor of the first day of fall classes, the Military and Veterans Resource Center will be handing out delicious gourmet ice pops from The Hyppo in exchange for answering a military-and-UNF-themed trivia question! You can double the YUM by checking in or liking our page (@UNFVetsCenter) to receive a second sweet treat. This event is open to all students - you do NOT need to be military-affiliated to participate.

Stay tuned : Operation New Uniform's comprehensive training program takes veterans through an in-depth process that starts with challenging old ways of thinking, having the right attitude, and providing the successful behaviors and refined techniques critical to an effective career search. The program escalates through practical application until the final lesson when each veteran stands before area human resource representatives and senior executives ready to apply their skills. At Ease is a free event offering ten-minute massage therapy sessions for military-affiliated students to help reduce their stress and optimize their well being. Fresh Check Day is an uplifting mental health promotion and suicide prevention event that includes interactive expo booths, peer-to-peer messaging, support of multiple campus departments and groups, free food, entertainment, and exciting prizes and giveaways. Fresh Check Day aims to create an approachable and hopeful atmosphere where students are encouraged to engage in dialogue about mental health and helps to build a bridge between students and the mental health resources available on campus, in the community, and nationally.

 

Visit the MVRC's booth to learn about the unique challenges that service member and veteran peers may face and discover resources available.

The workshop will be led by professionals from The Entrepreneur's Source, the world's largest franchise-coaching organization that provides a "safe space" for clients to explore business ownership.

This workshop is all about bouncing back from midterms and making the most of the rest of the semester. You will learn strategies to help you prepare, as well as tips to help you during your exam. Learn new ways to tackle multiple choice and essay questions and walk out of this session with the confidence to tackle your next exam.

CONGRATULATIONS FALL 2019 GRADUATES! In honor of your hard work, the Military and Veterans Resource Center would like to present graduating active duty military, ROTC, veterans and reservists with a special red, white and blue graduate cord! Cords will be presented to you during a recognition ceremony on Friday, November 22 at 12:00 p.m. in the Talon Room (Bldg. 16, Osprey Commons, 4th Floor). 

 

Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate your achievement with us, and refreshments will be provided. There is no charge for a cord, but you must R.S.V.P. to reserve one!
