Censorship and Accountability on Free Speech featuring Brandon Arroyo

       Brandon is the host of the Porno Cultures Podcast, a show where he interviews professors, performers, and anyone who helps us think about adult media in new and interesting ways. He's also the co-editor of I Confess!: Constructing the Sexual Self in the Internet Age (McGill-Queens Press, 2019). I Confess! is the first collection to analyze the intersection between sexual representation and sex across a multitude of media platforms. He's currently working on a book titled The Basics: Pornography Studies (Routledge), an introductory text for those wanting to learn more about the academic study of pornography. He's an instructor of media studies at Queens College, CUNY.

      This interactive, hands-on workshop is a great place to start. Get ready to talk about anatomy, desire, arousal. foreplay, and intimacy aids (lubricants and sex toys, yay!) and health conditions that make all this important. Learn ways to figure out what you like and how to negotiate those things with your partner(s) in a safe and affirming way (a.k.a. enthusiastic consent). We will explore some of the tools and resources you have available to you to develop a healthy, safe, rewarding sexuality that YOU define.

Reading Is Not A Drag

Thursday, March 12, 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.

      Reading is a Drag will be an hour long educational program featuring the talents of drag entertainers BeBe Deluxe, Sweet Tea the Drag Queen, & Archer Back. The program will be divided into four parts : a presentation of the educational story "Mind Ya Business Monster", a role play scenario, a simulation game show, and a Q&A from the audience.

Sex Ed Speakeasy

      Our keynote program will be given by UNF Alumni and creator of UNF Sex Week, Angel Kalafatis-Russell. Sex Ed Speakeasy is about acknowledging that sex is a natural part of human existence, sexuality is an important part of human identity, and we all deserve honest, medically accurate, pleasure-based information about our bodies, our behaviors, and our relationships. We will talk about the nature of sex ed prohibition, what it looks like in modern society, how it impacts our lives, and what we can do to receive better support from lawmakers, administrators, and other professionals.

This keynote will fun, engaging, interactive, and I encourage you to dress up in your 1920’s best.
