Building Bridges Creating Community Fundraising

Generally occurs in March

This fun gala celebrates the award-winning LGBTQ Center, which provides education and support programs, strategic initiatives, scholarships and consultations on LGBTQ issues at UNF, in the Jacksonville community, and beyond. Dinner, drinks and fun entertainment are included with your ticket. VIP reception and meet-and-greet are available. This event raises funds for the LGBTQ Center’s Building Bridges Creating Community scholarships, which is awarded yearly to full-time and part-time students at UNF.

Drag Queen Brunch

Generally occurs in June

Join us for our annual Drag Queen Brunch, as we raise funds for the LGBTQ Center. Drag Queen Brunch has talented Queens performing for your entertainment. Brunch and drinks are included with your ticket. VIP reception and meet-and-greet are available. All proceeds go to the LGBTQ Center to continue to create: educational and fun programming, provide scholarships to LGBTQ+ youth, create a safe space for our community, free HIV/STI testing, food pantry and so much more. Help us make Jacksonville better for the LGBTQ+ community and our allies.

Lavender Celebration

Generally occurs in April

Each Spring, the LGBTQ Center hosts a Lavender Graduation to honor lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and ally students to acknowledge their achievements and contributions to UNF and/or the Jacksonville community.

LGBTQ History Month

Generally occurs in October

In honor of LGBTQ History Month, we will be hosting events that spotlights and discusses each part of the LGBTQIA acronym.

Sex Week

Generally occurs in the first week in March

Sex Week is week-long series of events from various campus and community partners that aim to actively and creatively engage the campus community on topics related to health, wellness, consent, risk awareness, identity, relationships, diversity, inclusive language, and education.

Event highlights included: panel discussions on Title IX, consent, religion, masculinity, body image; safe space training, navigating healthy relationships, identity and orientation, and Pride Club’s Queer Prom.
