Welcome
The mission of the Institute for Justice, Accessibility, Inclusion Diversity, and Equity (JAIDE) is to provide institutional stakeholders the resources and knowledge necessary to conduct, disseminate, and publish meaningful research related to JAIDE locally, nationally, and globally.
The JAIDE Institute’s primary goal provide necessary support required for faculty, staff, and students to achieve their diversity related research goals and enhance UNF’s presence in state, national, and international venues.
We intend to launch our first cohort of JAIDE Institute Research Fellows beginning in the Spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year (AY). Each Fellow will receive a stipend of up to $5,000 to support the completion of a diversity related research project and related activities. Student Research Fellows will receive up to a $1,500 stipend for the AY.
JAIDE also intends to support graduate programs on campus, with special emphasis on doctoral programs with required dissertation research. JAIDE is interested in helping fund:
- Conference travel for doctoral students
- Funding for transcription services
- Other needs related to completing a dissertation
- Support for post-doc hires
About Us

Elizabeth Gregg
JAIDE Institute Director
Elizabeth (Liz) Gregg is a Professor and Director of the Institute for Justice, Accessibility, Inclusion, Diversity, & Equity (JAIDE) at the University of North Florida. Dr. Gregg holds Master’s degrees in Athletic Administration and Higher Education and a PhD in Human Performance from Indiana University-Bloomington. Dr. Gregg’s scholarship primarily focuses on gender equity in sport, issues in intercollegiate athletics and matters related to higher education. Dr. Gregg is a member of six editorial boards and serves as the Vice President of Academic Affairs for the Sport Marketing Association. She has published in journals such as the Journal of Sport Management, Sport Management Education Journal, Journal of Contemporary Athletics, and others.

Idris Mayo
JAIDE Institute Post-Doctoral Research Associate
Idris Mayo is an Adjunct Professor and Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the Institute for Justice, Accessibility, Inclusion, Diversity, & Equity (JAIDE) at the University of North Florida. Dr. Mayo holds a master's degree in Recreation Administration from North Carolina Central University. He also holds a Doctorate in Education with a concentration in Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University. Dr. Mayo's scholarship centers around recreation, college athletics, educational technology, and diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.
