Sophos

UNF will be replacing Symantec anti-virus currently installed on UNF computers with a new product - Sophos.  Sophos offers better protection of UNF computers with its robust set of advanced features. UNF computers will be migrated to the new solution during the month of September 2018.

The removal of Symantec and installation of Sophos will mostly be seamless, however in some cases an ITS representative may need to reach out to you to help complete your workstation’s software upgrade.  It is also possible that you will have to restart your computer to complete the installation.

As part of this change it will be necessary to bring UNF owned laptops back to campus to check-in and receive the new anti-virus software. If this is not done, the laptop will stop receiving anti-virus updates and the data contained on it put at risk.

All alerts will continue to be reviewed by IT Security and an ITS technician will reach out to you if more action is required.  If you have any questions about Sophos, please submit a ticket to the help desk at helpdesk@unf.edu or (904) 620-4357.
