SUBJECT: Computer Lab Reservations
OBJECTIVE & PURPOSE: To define policies and procedures relating to the reservation of computer labs managed by Information Technology Services.
AUTHORITY: Approved by the Academic Computing Policy and Planning Committee (ACPPC), April 3, 1989. Approved by the Information Resource Planning and Advisory Council, November 2, 1990.
The policies for the reservation of computer labs and/or classrooms managed by Information Technology Services, are as follows: The computer labs located in rooms 2106, 1104 and 1105 of the Mathews Building and in room 2082 of Founders Hall may be reserved. All reservation requests must be submitted to the Scheduling Coordinator in the Registrar's Office. The Registrar's Office is the final authority on all reservation requests.
The reserving instructor is responsible for hardware and software security. All hardware and software will be subject to an inventory check after each reserved time block. The instructor's department will be held responsible for replacement of lost or damaged hardware, software, or documentation. Under no circumstances are students to be left in these lab(s)/classroom(s) without faculty supervision or alternative supervision that has been approved by Information Technology Services.
Instructors are free to hold their office hours in these facilities during normal operating hours and when the labs/classrooms are not otherwise reserved. Although no specific computers will be reserved, any available computers may be used. Class lectures are not permitted and doors to labs may not be locked.
