The Osprey Maps System is a tracking system to monitor degree progression for undergraduate students. Each Map consists of Schedule courses and Mile Marker courses. Each Program/Major/Concentration combination must be defined by specifying the Schedule courses and Mile Marker courses.
The Osprey Map provides a term-by-term sample schedule for each undergraduate academic program at the University of North Florida. It is designed to guide students in the selection of courses each term. The "Mile Marker" courses are those courses that should be completed before or by the end of that term. Following the sample schedule, and completing the mile marker courses at the appropriate point of a student’s undergraduate career, will facilitate graduation in four years. The term-by-term model assumes fulltime enrollment. For students enrolled part-time, the sample schedule and mile markers should be followed based on the number of credits completed. The Osprey Map should be used in consultation with an academic advisor.
The Osprey Maps Administrator must create an Osprey Map for each program by defining the schedule and mile markers. In addition, the Osprey Maps Administrator can provide program text that will be displayed at the top of the Osprey Map. There are also options for placing students on hold and sending them emails regarding their Osprey Map Status (Off-Track or Off-Track In-Progress).

Osprey Maps-Free Form Text Maintenance
As part of defining an Osprey Maps, the Osprey Maps Administrator has the choice of using Free-Form text to describe courses in the Schedule. In many cases, the text will be the same for many courses and across programs. The Osprey Maps Administrator can define free-form text that can be reused when defining the Osprey Map.
Osprey Map – Student Adjustment
As part of the Osprey Map system, Advisors can adjust a student’s attempted hours thus effectively changing the Map term that the student is placed. This will allow students additional time to meet Mile Marker courses without flagging them as Off-Track every term. Adjustments can be made on students who have not matriculated. However, the term selected must be greater than or equal to the minimum effective term of the student’s General Student Record (SGASTDN).
