The Interfaith Center Campus Chaplain Program is comprised of voluntary workers from religious, spiritual, and philosophical traditions who are committed to the central role that religion, spirituality, and philosophy play in the development of whole human beings and healthy communities.

Campus Chaplains serve as a resource to the UNF community by:

  • Nourishing religious, spiritual and personal growth;
  • Supporting the religious, spiritual and philosophical needs of the campus community in time of need;
  • Advocating for the religious, spiritual, philosophical and ethical dimensions of university life;
  • Representing one's own community and its purposes with honesty and integrity while treating other theological, spiritual and philosophical traditions and perspectives with respect; and
  • Safeguarding the religious/spiritual/philosophical freedom, human dignity and personal conscience of all individuals in the course of their campus activities.

Amrita-keli Dasi

Affiliation: Hare Krishna

Amrita is a 2009 UF Cultural Anthropology Alum. After enjoying monk life for three years at the Krishna House in Gainesville, she moved to Vrindavan, India. There she received her Bhakti Sastri divinity degree in Krishna studies. She took a leap and moved to Jax in 2012, hoping to share the joy and depth of Krishna consciousness in an unfamiliar city. These days she can be spotted chanting Hare Krishna on the Green with friends, serving up some pretty epic vegan dinners, and rapping about the Bhagavad-gita, India's sacred spiritual text on yoga and God. She loves gathering with inquisitive college students to explore spiritual concepts, ask the big questions, chant, dance, eat, unwind and brainstorm ways to give back. Shes also a huge fan of 12-step recovery, hiking, her husband Lila Kishor, and trying to keep up with her baby boy. Catch her at Krishna Club, 7pm every Thursday at the Coxwell Amphitheater. Discover Krishna Club's campus and local events on their Facebook page Jax Krishnas: https://www.facebook.com/JaxKrishnas/
