Inclusion Fusion: Heritage Month Celebrations
ICP observes nationally-recognized heritage months of various cultural groups on campus, including but not limited to: Asian/Pacific Islander Heritage Month (May, but hosted in April at UNF), Black History Month (February), Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 - October 15) and Indigenous Peoples Heritage Month (November). In collaboration with campus and community partners, the center hosts events centered on exposing students to cultural traditions and customs. International Day of Peace
Each year, Peace Day is globally celebrated on September 21. ICP annually hosts an event around this date to bring students together in the spirit of peace to strengthen the ideals of unity, equality, compassion and harmony. From music performances to art workshops, this fun-filled event brings students together to honor the efforts of those currently working hard to end conflict and promote peace.
The Brotherhood
ICP is proud to support a new peer-led initiative, The Brotherhood. While open to any member of the campus community, The Brotherhood seeks to serve underrepresented male students of color, recognizing the unique challenges they face throughout their college journey. In partnership with male faculty and staff, participants co-facilitate interactive activities and meaningful discussions addressing topics including but not limited to:
- Academic Performance
- Career Readiness
- Health and Wellness
- Healthy Relationships
- Leadership
- Masculinity
- Exploring their multifaceted identities
