2010 Winter Excellence Awards Recipients Announced  

 

Soaring to Excellence

 

Lisa Laporte, 1st Place - Coggin College of Business

Lisa has demonstrated a commitment to excellence, focus, relevance, and accountability in her role as a Career Coordinator for the Career Management Center in the Coggin College of Business. She has created programming for Coggin students at the freshmen through senior level to promote student success and retention. Some of her programs include; Coggin College… Taking you out the Ballgame- a collaborative effort with Admissions and ACE to recruit and retain incoming declared freshman Business majors and Coggin Connections- a junior transfer orientation to engage business students as early as possible in hopes of creating and maintaining their connection to UNF. Additionally, she has worked with faculty members in the Coggin College of Business to increase participation in the STAR program to a record number this past Fall semester. One of Lisa’s key strengths is an interest and willingness to work outside the scope of her position description in a collaborative manner on efforts that benefit the Coggin College and the university.

 

Dr. Terry DiNuzzo, 2nd Place - University Counseling Center

As director of the Counseling Center, Terry supports the mission of UNF by providing high quality services to all students, faculty and staff who come to the Counseling Center and meets the mental health needs of the Campus Community. Terry's warmth and kindness are essential in dealing with the delicate nature of mental health issues. Terry serves as the chair of the Supporting Our Students Team, which promotes campus- wide reporting of students who may be at risk of harm to self or others. In addition, she serves as co-chair of the Returning Veterans Task Force, a group developed to accommodate the needs of returning veterans. Her sensitivity, compassion, and genuine love for what she does benefit the campus, people, and surrounding community.  

 


 Outstanding Achievement 


 Andre House, 1st Place - Auxiliary Services Andre has proven to be one of most dedicated and dependable individuals. He persists and performs at an exceptional level regardless of the challenges in front him. In performing his daily duties he works tirelessly with attention to detail and a genuine focus on excellent customer service. Andre’s sustained effort and dedication to University objectives along with an always positive attitude are key assets to all who call UNF home. His role in Auxiliary Services allows him to provide quality support and solutions to all divisions at UNF.

Debbie Dodd, 2nd Place - Enrollment Services Processing Debbie Dodd has developed UNF’s scanning process from what started as a two person back room operation, into the state of the art, efficient imaging center in Enrollment Services Processing today. Her scanning team has been visited by other SUS schools who are trying to develop their own programs, and she has also been instrumental with training new scanning teams in other UNF offices across campus. Debbie’s exceptional ability to focus totally on her work, and the effortless proficiency with which she can quickly move documents through scanning and into workflow have made her an invaluable member of our Enrollment Services Processing Team. Debbie’s positive and proactive attitude towards her work and fellow staffers make her a pleasure with which to work. 
 


Quality Customer Service 

Florida Institute of Education Florida Institute of Education reaches far and wide in support of raising the quality of education for children. It is not the quality of education received but children’s perception of their ability to succeed at any educational level. Outcomes of FIE’s customers/partnerships have resulted in improved learning for young children and data to monitor progress; improving delivery of services to children in the areas of child protection and health; child abuse prevention strategies, among many other results.
