The Parks and Preserves projects concentrate on Jacksonville's park system. Jacksonville is home to the largest urban park system in the United States, which comprises over 80,000 acres of parks and preserves. Known as the "Timucuan Trail State and National Parks," it represents a tri-governmental agency partnership with the Florida State Parks, the National Park Service and the City of Jacksonville Preservation Parks. Also included are certain urban core parks that are being targeted as part of an urban reforestation initiative.
