Cultural Competency Pursuit Diversity Education Program
Cultivating a diverse and inclusive campus environment truly requires the work and commitment of each and every member of our University community. To reach this goal and fulfill the mission of our esteemed institution, we strive to provide professional development opportunities for faculty, staff and students seeking to expand their working knowledge and understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion. The Cultural Competency Pursuit Diversity Education Program is comprised of 8 courses, covering today’s most popular mainstream social identities:
- Cultural Competency Pursuit 101
Dis/Ability
- Gender Inclusion
- Military/Veteran
- Race and Ethnicity
- Religion and Worldviews
- LGBTQ+
- Cultural Competency Pursuit Capstone
Each foundational course offers participants an in-depth opportunity to enhance their understanding of equity, diversity and inclusion. Facilitators will guide participants in establishing a mutual understanding of the language of diversity as they explore their own identities and develop new strategies to engage in dialogue across difference. Participants will leave every session with an understanding of the University’s core values of diversity and mutual respect & civility. Prospective participants can register for Cultural Competency Pursuit courses through the CPDT link on MyWings.
