The university provides extensive resources to assist faculty with online course development and delivery.
- Academic Coaches
To support the continued development and delivery of distance learning (DL) courses, funding is available annually to each college for, among other things, academic coaches to be used in DL courses.
- Canvas Support
CIRT provides extensive Canvas support, training, and guides for faculty, as well as access to 24-hour support.
- Discipline-specific Research
Selected research about various aspects and the efficacy of Distance Learning, as it pertains to specific disciplines.
- Proctoring Options for DL Courses
The University of North Florida is committed to the academic integrity of its distance learning courses. Instructors may elect to use online or on ground proctoring options for exams in their DL courses in order to authenticate student identity and promote academic honesty.
- Online Tutoring Services
The University of North Florida offers online tutoring via Smarthinking to students enrolled in selected online programs.
- Student Online Learning Orientation (SOLO)
Students taking a Distance Learning course are encouraged to participate in SOLO prior to the start of the course, and SOLO completion is required by several DL instructors and programs.
