Dr. Wynn is a licensed mental health counselor, certified addictions professional, and a nationally certified counselor. He earned a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision specializing in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Florida. Dr. Wynn embraces culture-centered approaches to teaching, research, and counseling. His research focuses on intersectionality of identity and traumatic stress with an emphasis on marginalized social identity groups. He is specifically interested in the ways in which culturally diverse, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people negotiate their identities and manage their health. Dr. Wynn is an associate professor and former director of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at the University of North Florida where he maintains a limited teaching load (faculty bio). As director of the Counseling Center, Dr. Wynn is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment, supporting creativity and innovation, and promoting mental health and wellness for the entire UNF community.
