Summary of the changes:
We would like to add a new prerequisite requirement for FSS1202 Food Fundamentals (3 credits). The prerequisite requirement is "Completion of the Brooks College of Health Background Check". This will ensure that all students complete the Background Check at the proper time, before they begin volunteer experiences with vulnerable populations.

We would like to add a new prerequisite requirement to FSS1202 Food Fundamentals: Completion of the Brooks College of Health Background Check. This will ensure that all students complete the Background Check at the proper time, before they begin volunteer experiences with vulnerable populations.
New Course Description:
Pre-requisite: Brooks College of Health Background Check. Co-requisite: FSS1202L. Students will acquire basic knowledge about food production and preparation. Included are basic principles of food science, food production, resource management, use and care of equipment, standards and evaluation of food products, recipe modification, safety, sanitation, purchasing, and agencies and laws related to food standards and grades.

We would like to add HUN3403 Life Span Nutrition (taken Fall semester, Junior year) as a required prerequisite for DIE3310 Community Nutrition (taken Spring semester, Junior year). This change will ensure that enrolled students stay on-sequence, and that transfer students who enter the program in January cannot register for DIE3310 Community Nutrition.

We would like to add HUN3403 Life Span Nutrition (taken Fall semester, Junior year) as a required prerequisite for DIE3310 Community Nutrition (taken Spring semester, Junior year. This change will ensure that students stay on-sequence and have the background knowledge needed to succeed in DIE3310.
New Course Description:
Prerequisites: HUN3403 Life Span Nutrition, HUN2201 Basic Principles of Human Nutrition. An introduction to federal, state, and local nutrition intervention programs and their impacts. Emphasis is placed on diagnostic tools used in community nutrition and programs as well as methods used to address community nutrition issues.
