The Degree Evaluation is an electronic document that allows students to track their academic progress. The Osprey Map is a detailed guide for the best path for a student to take courses and serves as a course sequencing guide for students.

During registration, most departments offer waitlists for classes that fill to capacity. If the class you wish to register for is currently filled, you will have the option of signing up on a waitlist for that section. This feature tells you how many people have already signed up on the waitlist. If the class becomes open and you are the next name on the waitlist, you will automatically be registered for the course. Please note that you may not move into a class from the waitlist if registration in that section would cause you to exceed max hours, if you are already registered in another section of the class, or if you have a hold.
For more information concerning the waitlist, visit the Records & Registration Online Waitlist FAQ webpage.

Students may pick up the appropriate form from the departmental offices or Academic Advising. Forms are to be completed by the student and the faculty member directing the independent study. It is the student's responsibility to arrange with the professor the course title and course specifications required. These specifications must include how the study is to be evaluated for a grade. After the appropriate signatures are obtained (student, faculty member, department chairperson, and Director of Academic Advising), the form should be submitted to Academic Advising (Bldg 10/Rm 1351). If all the appropriate requirements are met including student eligibility, electronic permission is given by the Director of Academic Advising. Students are notified of the approval or denial by email.
Students may be approved for a maximum of six DIS hours.

One important part of staying on track is to take the right number of credits each term. UNF recommends students take at least 15 credit hours each Fall and Spring term. Enrolling in 15 credit hours allows student to graduate on-time and helps prevent student from accruing an excess hours surcharge. In addition, many UNF institutional grants and scholarships require student to enroll in at least 15 credit hours per semester for both disbursement and renewal.
The minimum for full-time enrollment for purposes of athletic eligibility, financial aid or other reasons is 12 credit hours per term for undergraduate students and 9 credit hours per term for graduate students.
Students must complete their program of study course work within a ten-year window for undergraduate students and a seven-year window for graduate students. Therefore, students may need to look at their enrollment pace to ensure that program of study coursework can be completed with this time and stay under their original program of study course requirements.

III. Miscellaneous Policies
In general, concurrent/transient enrollment in business courses at other institutions is not permitted for Coggin students. Business courses include lower level business prerequisites and upper level business courses required for the degree.
UNF native BBA or BA degree seeking students can request permission for concurrent/transient enrollment only when extenuating, documentable circumstances are present. The concurrent/transient approval is required prior to taking the course(s) at another institution. Students must first complete a "Waiver of College Policy" form for permission.
If permission is granted, students must complete the Transient Student Admission Application at FloridaShines.
Students should meet with an academic advisor, and then follow instructions to complete the transient process. UNF native students are students who first matriculate at UNF after high school graduation.
Transfer students, dependent on their transfer status in accordance with the Florida Board of Governors, would either require permission for concurrent/transient enrollment through Coggin Advising and a “Waiver of College Policy”, or the
Transient Student Admission Application
at
FloridaShines
. Students should meet with an academic advisor to determine eligibility and then follow
instructions
to complete the transient process. Approval through a waiver or
FloridaShines
application is required prior to taking the course at another institution.

First Time Suspension: Students who are returning after their first suspension have not broken continuous enrollment and should meet with an academic advisor to discuss his/her plans to continue classes successfully. This meeting should take place at least eight weeks before the semester for which they wish to return. This advising meeting necessary to process the necessary paperwork for readmission.
Students who have Broken Continuous Enrollment: Students in this category must reapply at the Admissions Office at least 12 weeks before the beginning of the term for which they are seeking re-enrollment. Readmission is not automatic. Once the college makes a decision on the student's request, students are notified of the decision by mail. Students who are readmitted are sent specific instructions on their readmission conditions and given specific procedures to follow so that registration can take place in a timely manner. The reapplication deadline is strictly enforced by the college.

Students placed on academic probation are required to make an appointment with their academic advisor to discuss the specific circumstances leading to the probationary status and to have the HOLD lifted. The advisor can offer advice on services available at UNF that may assist the students with their particular problems. Students can be placed on academic probation for one of two reasons:
- Undergraduate Student's overall GPA falls below a 2.00
- Graduate Student's overall program &/or semester GPA falls below a 3.00.
Students should seek advice from their academic advisor in either case. There are support services available at UNF to assist students who have academic difficulty.
