Master of Education in Elementary Education

This graduate program assists learners in developing personal and professional competencies needed for successful instruction in today's public schools. This goal is achieved through programs emphasizing individually meaningful instruction, the use of innovative materials, and the application of theoretical concepts in laboratory and clinical experiences.
 

The department offers a wide array of graduate studies for teachers and other educational professionals. In meeting those diverse needs, the department offers three categories of studies at the graduate level. 


Four Concentrations are available: 

Reading and Advanced Literacy, K-12 Reading Endorsement, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and Elementary STEM.

Elementary Education: Reading & Adv Literacy (Master of Education)

Program Description for Elementary Education

Major: Elementary Education Concentration: Reading & Adv Literacy Degree: Master of Education

Prerequisites

  • Valid teaching license from any U.S. state or international equivalent
  • Must meet all UNF requirements for admission to a graduate program

The Master of Education in Reading and Advanced Literacy is an advanced study program that does not carry certification or any additional endorsements. The program consists of 39 semester hours of core and major requirements. This program is intended for individuals who wish to gain more knowledge in the field of literacy.

The Master of Education in Elementary Education, with a specialization in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), is designed to meet the needs of students with a teacher certification who wish to pursue a graduate degree. This particular program does not certify teachers or carry any additional endorsements.
