Saturday November 13th, 2021 at the University of North Florida

The 15th Annual Southeast Regional Ethics Bowl will be held on November 9th, 2018, from 8 AM to 6:30 PM at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, FL. Our Regional Bowl, like the 20-year-old National Bowl, provides an opportunity for students to engage in thoughtful consideration of important ethical issues of the day. The regional ethics bowls serve as Qualifiers for the APPE Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl Competition to be held in winter 2022.

Only teams that participate in a regional bowl and rank among the best in each region are eligible to compete in the national competition. Schools may participate in the regional bowl without planning to send a team to the national bowl, however that must be noted upon registration by saying you are attend SEREB for practice. Up to twenty (20) teams will participate in our regional bowl this year.

We will continue with the format of 4 Rounds.

Rounds will be decided by the number of Judges voting for the team. Tiebreakers will also be decided by number of Judges voting for a Team. Differentials and Points will only be used, if the number of Judges is also a tie.

The schedule will be two morning rounds, Lunch, two afternoon rounds, followed by the presentation of the winners with a final round to determine first and second place.

Because of logistics and space, we will limit the number of participating teams to 20. The registration process is below - by paying you will reserve your team (although those competing for nationals over simply practicing for other regional competitions will still be given priority). See link below.

The cost will be $250 per team paid to UNF. Like this past years, APPE requires that someone connected to each team be a member of APPE, or alternately the Institution can have a membership. In addition, you must pay APPE's initial registration fee in order to compete. Payment procedures are below. If any team needs special accommodations for payment and registration with us, we are very reasonable people.

If you have any questions or comments about local arrangements, please contact either Sarah LaChance Adams or Heather Pease.
