Summer Music Camp

The 2022 Summer Music Camp will be held from June 19-24 at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida and welcomes applications from rising 8th graders through college students, who have at least two years of performing experience. It will feature both concert and jazz courses and ensembles and overnight and day camp options are available.

While the UNF campus is currently observing Covid-19 protocols with the expectation that all students and visitors wear masks, these protocols may change by the start of camp.

Enrollment has closed for Jazz Drum Set and Jazz Piano. We can only accept enough of each instrument to provide a high quality performance experience. Contact Dr. Bovenzi at to be added to the wait-list.

  1. Visit the Audition Materials page and review the audition pieces your students will perform upon arrival for ensemble placement. If the level of music is within your student's ability, this camp is a good fit. If the music looks too challenging, speak with your student's music teacher for input. All instrumental campers are expected to perform major scales as a part of their placement audition.
  2. Next, visit the Electives page to see what options your student can choose when registering. Note that all campers will play in a symphonic ensemble unless they only play a jazz rhythm section instrument (jazz drum set, jazz guitar, jazz bass, jazz piano).
  3. Finally, visit the link below and register your student. Options include:
  • Day Camp (8:30am-5:30pm daily)
  • Extended Day (8:30am-9:00pm)
  • Overnight (sleeping at the campus resident hall).

Payment can be made in full or with a $100 deposit, and payments can be made toward the balance through June 13, 2022.
