Music Technology

Michael Taylor, director

The UNF Music Technology Ensemble is an electroacoustic group under the direction of Michael Taylor. The ensemble consists of music technology majors who perform using a wide variety of instruments and voices, combining hardware and software for live musical performances. This group is not limited to a specific genre, or even by the instrumentation of the group, allowing for an extremely diverse cross-section of repertoire to be performed. Past concerts have included historically significant repertoire, unorthodox methods of playing music (using devices not intended for music), greatest hits of the 1980s, film score, and video game music. The goal of the ensemble is to provide a fun and educational environment for students to become familiar with music technology, and as such students are expected to have a fundamental understanding of music technology hardware and software.
