The University of North Florida is home to one of the most recognized performance-based music programs in the country. With an emphasis on American music and comprised of dedicated faculty members who are recognized artist/practitioners in their fields, UNF's School of Music offers a stimulating and personal atmosphere in which students can study and grow.
The UNF School of Music is a limited access program offering a Bachelor of Music in Performance with concentrations in Piano, Strings, Voice, Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion, and Music Technology and Production, a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, Jazz Studies, and Piano Pedagogy, a Master of Music Education with concentrations in Pedagogy and Research and Professional Education, and a Master of Music in Performance with concentrations in Conducting, Jazz Studies, Piano, Strings, Voice, Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion.
Since its launch in 1972, the School's limited access status has allowed for a more personal rapport between teacher and student while upholding the highest standards of musical excellence. The countless awards and endorsements that the Department has received and continues to receive is testament to the caliber of the UNF School of Music as one of the very best anywhere. UNF's School of Music is a fully accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).

UNF's School of Music boasts the nation's first lab equipped with the newest run of Clavinovas, a digital keyboard line made by Yamaha.
UNF's piano lab is one of the finest in the nation, and was the first piano lab in the country to acquire Yamaha's newest Clavinova digital pianos. Students play on one of twenty-four CVP-501 or CVP-503 pianos with 88 keys and graded hammer action to simulate the feel of an acoustic instrument. Each instrument contains hundreds of orchestral sounds and rhythm tracks to enhance the experience. The lab services courses in both class piano as well as piano pedagogy, and also includes Macintosh computers, a projector, and large display screen, piano pedagogy seminar space, and the UNF Piano Pedagogy Library.
UNF offers Transformational learning opportunities to promote student studies abroad.
UNF transformational learning opportunities may take a myriad of forms: study abroad experiences; service learning experiences; research experiences with a faculty member; internships, practicum, field and co-op experiences; directed independent studies with a faculty member; learning communities; and leadership experiences.
UNF's School of Music students tour nationally and internationally including recent tours to China, Portugal, Italy, the Czech Republic, and South Africa. UNF School of Music students have also performed at venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Vatican, and Mozart's Estates Theater in Prague.
