11th Annual Conducting Symposium

The UNF School of Music is pleased to announce registration is open for the 11th Annual UNF Conducting Symposium on September 10-11, 2022.

 

In collaboration with UNF School of Music faculty, our special guest clinicians this year are Gary Hill, Emeritus Director of Bands, Arizona State University; Rickey Badua, Director of Bands and Instrumental Music, California State Polytechnic University-Pomona; and Brittan Braddock, Director of Bands, Mercer University.  Designed for current music educators of all levels and college students alike, the symposium's features will include conducting/coaching practicum sessions, master classes on score preparation, creating an effective rehearsal environment and wind/percussion pedagogy.

Conductor Participant $285

  • Limited to 18 conductors, on a first-come, first-serve basis
  • Please provide your own scores
  • After slots are filled, additional may elect auditor status or waiting list
  • All fees are non-refundable upon confirmation of slot
  • Two 15-minute conducting sessions with the UNF Wind Symphony, one coached by Gary Hill and one coached by Erin Bodnar
  • Two 15-minute video sessions following the conducting session, one with Rickey Badua and one with Brittan Braddock 

Observer Participant $85

  • Unlimited observer spots
  • Provide your own scores
  • All fees are non-refundable upon confirmation
  • Observers attend all sessions but without one-on-one podium time and post-podium time
