5 o'clock Singing Ospreys
Tommy Shapard, conductor
The 5 o'clock Singing Ospreys is open to faculty, staff, and students of all majors and performs one to three concerts per semester. This emerging and growing ensemble of basses and tenors rehearses once a week. Time is devoted to exercising healthy vocal technique; rehearsing diverse repertoire selections ranging from a cappella to accompanied works; gaining a full understanding of what it means to be a professional choral musician; and, finding community on campus with others who have a passion for singing. Student leadership opportunities within the ensemble are a bonus for future educators as a training ground in the choral art. The 5OCS rehearses Mondays from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center, Building 45, Room 1404.
