: You can take ADV
4930-Integrated Marketing Communication as a substitute for MAR 3023-Principles
of Marketing. Also, you can take MMC 4422-Advertising & PR Research as a
substitute for MMC 4420-Mass Communication Research.
Good “major electives” that are available include
: PUR 3000-Principles of
Public Relations, MMC 4630-Understanding Emerging Media, and MMC 4930-Social
Media Management. Also, summer only, you can take

2017 Spring graduating seniors invited to department’s graduation reception
Spring 2017 graduates are
invited to bring their families to attend the department’s graduation
reception. The department’s reception will be held on graduation day, Friday,
April 28, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., in the Student Union Ballroom – 3804. That
leaves you and family members plenty of time to attend Commencement, which
begins at 4 p.m. This reception will give graduates the chance to say
goodbye to favorite professors and classmates. Refreshments will be provided.
The department will also recognize the 2016-2017 Outstanding Graduating Seniors
in the various disciplines, as well as honor scholarship winners, and talk
about the benefits of joining the department’s alumni association.

RTV 4930 – Special Topics (Live Multi-Camera
Sports Production – ESPN)
This course will focus on the
planning, production and post-production elements of producing live streamcasts
of UNF athletic events for ESPN3. Students will receive training on the various
equipment utilized to produce events including a Ross Carbonite switcher, Ross
Xpresssion graphics and NewTek replay system. Students will also be required to
apply this training and participate in the production of several events on
scheduled nights and weekends. Several guest speakers from the sports media
industry will also be a part of the course schedule.
Students interested in
producing halftime feature packages for use during events are also welcome.
This storytelling process includes videography, interviews, script writing and
editing.

Unique Fall Class, Communication &
Culture
Get a
chance to explore the diversity of Jacksonville and ensure community voices are
heard in a unique fall class. Only 10 lucky Department of Communication
students will be accepted into the class, MMC 4930 Communication & Culture,
which is the first-ever partnership between UNF and Edward Waters College, an
historically black college in downtown Jacksonville. In the class, students
will collect oral histories and write stories about the people who call
downtown their home. All classes will be held on the campus of Edward Waters
Colleges so a car is necessary. For more information, contact Dr. Paula

are limited for the one-time class, which meets on Wednesdays from 2:30 to 5:20
p.m. at EWC.
Departmental Permission
Required for Doggett’s Fall Campaigns Class
If you’re thinking about
taking Prof. Doggett’s PR Campaigns class in fall 2017, you must first fill out
an application form. Her section requires Department Permission. The client for
Doggett’s class is our very own UNF Department of Communication. The class will
be working with Prof. Frank Goodin’s Advanced Production class and will be
focusing on the promotion of the department’s new master’s degree, M.S. in
Communication Management. Applications must be submitted by Wednesday, April 12
at 3 p.m. Application

The 36-credit M.S. in Communication Management provides
graduate-level professional skills for those seeking communication-related leadership
positions at public relations firms, advertising agencies, news outlets,
production companies, government agencies, healthcare companies, and other
businesses. Students will learn strategy, metrics, economics, ethical and legal
issues, and social and cultural issues in communication and media management.
The department is now taking applications for the fall 2017 semester.
Writing
Successful SAILS Application Information Sessions
If you want to study abroad, present a paper at an
international conference, or collect research data abroad, you can apply for
the Student Affairs International Learning Scholarship (SAILS). This
competitive scholarship provides funding for undergraduate and graduate
international educational experiences that enrich academic and individual
development. Scholarship recipients may receive either $1,500 to support a
short-term (less than 10 weeks) international activity or $2,500 for a
long-term (10 weeks or longer) international activity. Made possible by
Student Government.

simple memo app featuring unlimited nested lists. It has been known for
prominent Silicon Valley techies such as Evan Williams and Farhard Manjoo for
their work. You can organize your thoughts and to-do-list by bullet point. You
can expand and collapse bullet points and sub-directories. Each bullet point
works as an individual note page. Tagging, sharing, search, and multi-devices
uses are all possible. It helps you organize your complicated tasks and
