Swoop the Slam Kayak Fishing Tournament Information

The UNF Bass Fishing Club and Strike Zone Fishing bring you the SWOOP THE SLAM multi-species kayak fishing tournament. Prizes awarded for the largest fish for each of four species including largemouth bass, redfish, flounder and trout with a grand prize for the winner of the Slam – the largest combined length of three of the four target species.

Date: April 19 (Captains Meeting) and April 20 (Tournament), 2019

Location: Any fresh, brackish or inshore saltwater contained within Duval, Nassau, St. Johns, and Clay counties. Captains Meeting and Check In will be held at the Student Union on the University of North Florida campus.

Entry Fee: $55 if received before March 31, 2019. $65 for all entries received after that date. Entry forms can be submitted via email to or sent via mail to:

Entry fees can be paid through PayPal (preferred) to or by personal check made out to “UNF Bass Fishing Club” and sent to the address above.


Prizes: Guaranteed prizes for 1 in 7 entries with at least 80% of all entry fees paid back in prizes. 


Guaranteed 1st place Slam (combined length of three of the four target species; largemouth bass, redfish, flounder and trout) will win a brand new Oldtown Predator 13OVZ valued at $1500. 

1st place for the largest fish of each of the four species will receive brand new Kistler KLX Feel-N-Reel casting rods with an Ardent C-Force casting reel valued at $480 (assuming a minimum of 60 entries, otherwise rod and reel will be separated). Raffle tickets will also be available to win additional prizes from our sponsors.

All proceeds from the tournament will help cover travel expenses for UNF Bass Fishing Club members to fish regional and national college fishing events through FLW Outdoors and BASS.
