General notes on language and culture studies at UNF

  • Students who completed two or more years of Spanish, French, or Chinese in high school can automatically place into Intermediate Spanish I, Intermediate French I, or Intermediate Chinese I at UNF (in the core of the minor).
  • Faculty from the Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (LLC) are happy to consult with students to help them find coursework in Spanish, French, Mandarin, or German, that suits their current proficiency level, interests, and goals. Please contact the LLC chairperson for information about placement, retroactive credit, or to arrange a faculty consultation. <gregory.helmick@unf.edu>
  • Please note that all UNF language courses at the Intermediate level and higher include cultural studies in the target language as well as promote measurable written and verbal proficiency in intercultural communication, in accordance with the ACTFL guidelines.
