EVALUATION CRITERIA (Sample Rubric)

Please review the EEL projects based on the following statements describing the project. Please use the evaluation scale described below.

  1. The quality of the proposal:
    1. The proposal adheres to the format specified in the award description.
    2. The proposal clearly describes educational experience of the students.
    3. The proposal clearly describes how it will advance student learning.
    4. The proposal’s budget is appropriate for the project.
     
  2. The intellectual merit and impact of the project:
    1. The project positively and significantly affects UNF students.
    2. The project involves significant number of UNF students.  
     
  3. Applicant’s record of accomplishment:
    1. The proposer has a strong record of scholarship.
    2. The proposer will likely complete the project within the specified timeframe. 
     

EVALUATION SCALE

Please rate each application, using your best judgment. In cases where you have substantial uncertainties, the discussions with your EEL colleagues will help you to arrive to the decision.

  • E = 4 strongly agree with the statement:  truly outstanding in all respects; highly compelling case for funding.
  • VG = 3 agree with the statement: few or minor concerns, likely correctable in mid-project; a very worthy project for DLC support.
  • G = 2 somewhat agree with the statement: fundable, but not meeting the highest standards for significance and/or project execution.
  • F = 1 neither agree nor disagree with the statement: not fundable as currently proposed; but conceivably worthy of support through revision and resubmission.
  • NC = 0 not competitive: a score of zero: not fundable now, nor, likely, as a resubmission
