Instructions for Course Set Up

  1. Complete adoption form in myWings
Go to Faculty ResourcesFaculty Self-Service > Clicker Requests
Do this for all classes in which you will use clickers each semester.
  2. Include the student clicker in your textbook order to the bookstore.
    (ISBN: 9780998819112)
  3. Decide whether to allow the use of ResponseWare in your course.
**ResponseWare allows students the option of using a mobile device or web browser instead of the clicker hardware, but requires extra steps on the part of the instructor, both initially, and for each class period.
  4. Include clicker information in your course syllabus. Some sample language is available below. Be sure to specify whether you will allow the use of ResponseWare.
  5. Request your Canvas course(s). If you teach multiple sections, it is useful at this point to give each section a unique name, ie Intro to Physics, Tu/Thur. You will need a separate Canvas course for each section you teach. If you are interested in using combined sections in Canvas, please first consult with CIRT staff to understand the implications for the Turning software.
  6. Turn on the Turning Technologies Registration tool in your Canvas course so that students can register their clickers.  Directions here: Adding Turning Technologies Link to Canvas Course
  7. Contact CIRT with questions and to learn about training opportunities.
