Therapy Animal Expo & Symposium

The University of North Florida and Therapy Animal Coalition are working together to further the human-animal bond in healthcare. This Expo & Symposium will feature nationally-recognized speakers and informational workshops for both professionals and non-professionals.* Attendees will be able to participate in interactive roundtable discussions, learn more about therapy animal programs, and interact with onsite vendors who will be offering various pet-related products and services. HUMAN ONLY EVENT: Please leave your pets at home. Only service animals are allowed at this event.

 

*The professional track will award Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from University of North Florida.  

 

 

 

Aspiring Therapy Animal Teams
OneOpen to Non-Professionals

For those who have a general interest in learning about becoming a therapy animal team with their pet, including many of the training aspects and the process to get registered. Anyone with a general interest in pet therapy would benefit from this track.

For those who are already registered with their pet to do animal assisted interventions or are already in the process of becoming a team. This track will help you take your volunteering to the next level and help strengthen the bond between you and your animal partner.

Licensed Health/Mental Health Providers
ThreeOpen to Professionals Seeking CEUs

New this year is the presentation of research and professional best practices for inclusion of animals in healthcare and/or education settings via licensed/credentialed professionals registering as an AAI team or working in collaboration with registered volunteer teams to facilitate treatment/education. This track is offered to support and expand the discussion of the science that supports the ‘magic’ we all know as the power of Animal Assisted Interventions. Any medical, mental health or education professional is encouraged to attend.

CEUs will be provided for professionals registering for this track.
