ISACA Jacksonville Chapter 2019 Scholarship

ISACA will award one (1) $2,000 scholarship this Spring to a student at the University of North Florida. The Chapter Board requests faculty be aware of the limitedresources of ISACA and the intent to assist a student who is deservingand in need. We request faculty to encourage students to apply based on meeting the general requirements as well as performance and need.

General Requirements

The applicant must be a degree-seeking student with a major in Information Systems, Information Science or business major and have completed their freshman year at the time they apply for the scholarship. Applicant must also be a full-time student (assumed to be a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester). Applicant shall be a citizen of the United States or h old permanent residency status.

Additional Criteria/Essay

Scholarship will be awarded based on educational achievement (a minimum GPA of 2.8); financial need and demonstrated professional, social and charitable activities. Applicant should also include a simple but professionally written essay (400 word minimum) describing applicant's future career plans. The essay shall be graded based on: 1) content, 2) organization, 3) style (professional business), and grammar/spelling/mechanics. The Board will evaluate each application and one (1) $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to the selected student

Due Date/Selection

The essay is due on or before April 12, 2019 (Friday). Board members of the ISACA chapter will evaluate the essays. The scholarship will be granted at the sole discretion of the ISACA Board and will be awarded at either our April 2019 event or another event. Note: Students are responsible for ensuring they meet the requirements prior to submitting essay.

Simplified Application Process

To apply simply submit your essay directly to our Academic Relations Director (Hal) at isacajaxacademic@nym.hush.com or call (904) 347-3354 for additional information. The student in which their essay was selected will be notified and then required to complete a simple application and submit any needed support.
