UNF EE alumnus, Noel San Antonio, makes a difference

San Antonio in a classroom in Bulacan

Noel San Antonio, a UNF Electrical Engineering alumnus, is well on the way to accomplishing his dream of building a school to serve the impoverished children of the Filipino farming town of Bulacan.

San Antonio helped inspire and organize friends, family, donors, and the people of Bulacan to make this happen. In 2009, San Antonio organized an expedition of UNF Engineering and Construction Management students to the Philippines to complete construction of Phase II of the school.

Today, the St. Anthony Development and Learning Center of Bulacan in the Philippines provides free education (pre-kindergarten through first grade) to eighty children. San Antonio hopes to expand the school to provide pre-K through high school classes in the coming years.

A brief interview of Noel San Antonio was conducted by Beth Reese Cravey in The Florida Times-Union - Jacksonville on 07 September 2011, where San Antonio talks about his motivations and goals.
