Important Notice

Starting Summer 2021, students admitted to UNF with fewer than 60 earned college credits who intend to major in a degree program offered by the School of Engineering will start as a Pre-Engineering major until they complete the following courses (also referred to as Milestone 1 courses):

  • MAC2311 - Calculus I
  • MAC2312 - Calculus II
  • PHY2048C - Calculus-Based Physics I
  • CHM2045 - General Chemistry I
  • CHM2045L - General Chemistry I lab*

 *Chemistry Lab not required for Electrical Engineering majors


Students will matriculate to their Engineering major by informing their academic advisor of their major preference as long as they have completed each course above with C or higher and have met the following GPA requirements:

Engineering Major Minimum GPA (calculated on all attempts of courses listed above
Civil Engineering      2.0
Electrical Engineering 2.5
Mechanical Engineering 2.5
