The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute-Foundation selected Dr. Adel ElSafty of UNF to assume the ACADEMIC COUNCIL CHAIR position and to be a member of its board of trustees.  A message from Dr. ElSafty.

IEEE Impact Creator

Dr. Jaun Aceros, Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at UNF, was featured as an IEEE Impact Creator in recognition of his extensive work including biomedical engineering, rehabilitation, and medical devices. IEEE Impact Creators “inspire a global community to innovate for a better tomorrow. IEEE Impact Creators from around the globe share insights in engineering, computing and technology.”

Civil Engineering Students Honored

UNF's American Society of Civil Engineers was honored with an Outstanding Student Chapter Award, labeling our Student Chapter in the top 5% of all Student Chapters in the world (over 350).  This award was judged by the Society, overseeing chapters and branches in all 177 countries.  UNF ASCE was praised for community involvement, professional development events, and growth at the annual Southeaster Student Conference.

2019 SoE Innovation Day

The CCEC School of Engineering hosted the 2019 Innovation day on Monday, April 15, 2019.  Student presentations were held in the Skinner-Jones Building 4 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. followed by a reception in the Ballroom of the Student Union from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

2019 Women Leaders in STEM Conference

The 5th Annual Women Leaders in STEM Conference hosted by the College of Computing Engineering and Construction and the Center for the Advancement of Women in Engineering. Emily Calandrelli - Aerospace Engineer, Author, and Emmy Nominated Host and Executive Producer - gave a keynote speech at 9 am, followed by a panel discussion of prominent engineering leaders, networking opportunities, and breakout sessions, including a special session for middle and high school students.

Dr. Stephen Stagon Creates Liquid Metallic Glue

Dr. Stephen Stagon, UNF Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering, creates the first liquid metallic glue, called MesoGlue, which can be used in products for aerospace and electronics.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office took delivery of their newly refurbished robot after it underwent a two month rehab by students from the University of North Florida's Electrical Engineering program Thursday morning, July 10, 2014.

UNF student team heads to NASA to test experiment in zero gravity

First Coast News highlighted the team of UNF students selected by NASA to fly their experiment in the G Force One aircraft.   The team is exploring how fluid, like blood, moves at very low flow-rates.

UNF Engineering students use 3D modeling to rapid prototype steering gearbox for Osprey Racing

UNF School of Engineering students, members of the Formula SAE Osprey Racing Chapter, designed and constructed a prototype for a 90-degree, steering gearbox using 3D CAD/CAM software and a 3D printer.

Spring and summer of 2019, UNF Engineering students Participated in a study abroad trip to Taiyuan University of Science and Technology in China.  Immersing themselves into the local, oriental culture, they had, what they considered, a transformational experience.
