She has participated in the creation and design of a Jacksonville nonprofit, Florida Young Advocates, which focuses on teaching underserved high school students about civics, legal skills, and advocacy.

Amanda Wind, a College of Education and Human Services Department of Exceptional, Deaf, and Interpreter Education, as well as Hicks Honors College spring graduate from Stuart, Florida, has spent her time in Jacksonville serving youth in the community. She has engaged in programs such as the On Campus Transition Program and Best Buddies to help college-aged students with developmental and intellectual disabilities experience a smooth transition to independent living in a college environment.
