Institutional Recognition for Community Engagement
UNF is honored to share the distinction of being a Carnegie Foundation's Community Engagement Classification institution and a President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll recipient. We share this prestige with other engaged campuses across the nation.
The Carnegie Foundation's Classification for Community
Engagement is an elective classification. Evidence-based
documentation is used to determine whether an institution qualifies for
recognition as a community engaged institution. The University of North
Florida received the Carnegie Classification in 2010 and was successfully recertified in 2020. The institution will apply for recertification in 2026.
The President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll recognizes institutions of higher education that support exemplary community service programs and raise the visibility of effective practices in campus community partnerships. UNF was awarded the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll from 2011 through 2016. This awarding of this distinction ended in 2016.
