The UNF application generally opens online one (1) year in advance of the term's start date. This is not controlled by the School of Nursing; rather, this is determined at the university level. In order to have an admission decision from the university as a pre-nursing FTIC applicant by January 1 as noted in the admission details, all materials must be received by the university's admissions unit by the above deadline. Those who are then selected for an admission interview will be notified by the School of Nursing in writing as to the deadline for TEAS scores (generally due by Wednesday morning the week of interviews).
*The School of Nursing has traditionally held the mandatory nursing orientation, which is separate from the university's mandatory New Student Orientation (NSO). The 2019 date is currently in planning stages and will be published shortly. The 2020 date will be made available by mid-summer 2020. Please continue to check back for updates. Failure to attend the university's NSO will result in the forfeiture of one's seat.
**The dates listed for the start of classes each term is the university's official start date. Check your personal class schedule for your actual first day of class by accessing it through the myWings portal.
Admission Interviews: Please note that an interview is conducted prior to admission into any Prelicensure track. The interview is competitive and is conducted in a group setting as the ability to work and interact effectively with others is of the utmost importance to the major and to the field. Alternate interview dates are not available. The dates are posted well in advance so that candidates may plan accordingly.
