Biography

Originally from New Orleans, Lousiana, I grew up in Pompano Beach, Florida and attended Cardinal Gibbons High School. I graduated from Duke University in 1980 with a degree in Management Science/Accounting and began my career in public accounting with KPMG (then Peat Marwick Mitchell) in Jacksonville, FL in 1980 first in the audit department and then in their tax department. As a Navy spouse, we lived in many locations, and I continued to practice public accounting. In 1991 I obtained a Masters in Business from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and began teaching Accounting and Finance for Hawii Pacific University in 1992. After leaving Hawaii, I taught as an adjunct in San Diego at Universtiy of California San Diego, National University, Cuyamaca Junior College, and University of Phoenix. Later in England, I taught through the University of Maryland overseas program at RAF Lakenheath and Mildenhall. Upon moving back to the U.S., I returned to public accounting part-time while raising children. From 2006-2015, I taught for the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida. In August 2016, I began teaching for the University of North Florida where I currently teach Financial Statement Analysis and Financial Management II.
