Dr. Liu has been solving problems on preferences and decision making using methods in artificial intelligence and decision theory.  He has published research results on tier-1 conferences on artificial intelligence (e.g., AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence and International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence) and decision theory (e.g., Algorithmic Decision Theory).  Dr. Liu is also very active in the artificial intelligence community, serving on various program committees for tier-1 AI conferences, such as AAAI-19, IJCAI-18, ECAI-18, IJCAI-16, AAAI-14, ISAIM-14, and IJCAI-13, and serving as a journal review for tier-1 AI journals, such as JAIR.
