Biography

Lisandra R. Carmichael, is the Director of Public Services at the Thomas G. Carpenter Library. Prior to working at UNF, she worked at the University of West Florida where she was the Associate Dean of University Libraries and at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, where she has the Head of Access Services. She has over 18 years of library work experience.  Before becoming a librarian, Lisandra was a Captain in the Air Force and after that – a teacher. In addition to working at UNF, Lisandra is a doctoral candidate at the Florida State University’s (FSU) College of Communication & Information where she is pursuing a PhD in Information Studies. While at FSU, she taught Management of Information Organizations to future librarians; and she worked as a Research Assistant at the Information Use and Policy Management Institute. Her research interests include succession planning in academic libraries, broadband adoption and deployment in rural communities, and academic library spaces and services to constituents. She holds a master’s degree in Library Sciences and Information Technology from the University of Missouri at Columbia.
