Jenny Hager is an Associate Professor of Sculpture in the Department of Art & Design. Hager has been teaching at UNF since Fall 2006 and has been instrumental in revitalizing the Sculpture Program through new course offerings, updated curriculum and the “Sculpture on Campus” project. She has also led student trips to Rome, Wales, New York and Miami. She received her Master of Fine Arts Degree in Sculpture and Digital Media from San Jose State University in San Jose, CA. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Studio from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY. Hager’s sculpture includes a variety of processes and materials, including steel, cast iron, post-it notes, video, wood, digital photography and found objects. She finds inspiration in dreams, objects from her childhood, gadgets, sea life and other curiosities. She is also very interested in collaboration; the spirit of community important in both her teaching practice and in her own work. Hager’s work has been exhibited across the country and most recently in the Cymru Ironstone Castle Exhibition in Wales, the Knoxville, TN Dogwood Arts Festival "Art in Public Places" Exhibition and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans. She also recently collaborated with colleagues Emily Arthur-Douglass and Charlotte Mabrey on the “Wolfbat Wedding” performance at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Jacksonville.
