Biography

Ms. Shaqareq graduated with an M.A. in Adult Education with focus on TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) in 2010 from the University of North Florida. She has also received her B.A. in Elementary Education in 1999 from the same university.

Prior to teaching at the University of North Florida, she taught in preschools and elementary schools, and at the same time, she founded and implemented an afterschool program that taught about the principles of health and nutrition. She has also taught in the English Language Program offered at the University of North Florida, in which she taught English language to international adults at various levels. She currently teaches undergraduate courses in the areas of TESOL principles and methods. Being an international student herself, coming into our school systems as a junior in high school, she offers valuable insight and knowledge on the topics.

She has presented TESOL concepts and strategies at workshops and conferences several times and hopes to pursue her Doctorate in the near future.
