Reduced accounts receivable (42%) over a five-month period that resulted in a net savings of over $700,000. Worked with Medicaid and Medicare and other third party payers. Extensively utilized and applied CPT and ICD coding systems. Responsible for the proper processing of Medicare secondary payer and Medicaid claims. Active follow up on all outstanding accounts with secondary payer review; followed collections on aging claims. Worked with various database including Medicare DDE online system. Followed HCFA (now CMS) guidelines. Contacted attorneys, employers, physicians, and others necessary to obtain information for resolution of accounts. Managed confidentiality and disclosure requirements. Conducted audit reviews. Ensured compliance of state, federal and agency rules.
