## Biography

Dr. Choi is an electrical engineering professor at the University of North Florida. His research interests include computational algorithms for control systems and engineering education.

Received plaques of appreciation from engineering students for faculty-led study abroad programs conducted from 2014 to present.

Professor of the Year, 2010, awarded by the Northeast Florida engineering societies.

Received an UNF Academic Technology Grant for the development of a transmission line experimental station for teaching and research in electromagnetic fields applications 2018.

Received UNF funding for the redesign of circuit analysis courses with open educational resources, 2018.

Received UNF funding for the participation in course TOL6100 for the development of blended and online courses, 2017.

Received funding from UNF Office of Faculty Enhancement for the participation in a program for effective teaching and course redesign, 2016.

Received a UNF summer undergraduate teaching grant $7,500 in 2014. Developed a laboratory and a set of experiments to support the teaching of Texas Instruments MSP430 microcontrollers.

The Omnii Sense project, $10K funded by MegaWatt Ventures Competition, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, 2011-2012. The PI's were Jerry Merckel and Chiu Choi.

Co-PI of a project titled “Sensor Arrays for Multiple Applications” funded by the U.S. Army. The project was proposed by the UNF Sensors Group that received a funding of 1.4 million in the period from 2009-2010.

Received a UNF summer undergraduate teaching grant in 2009. The total amount was $7,500. The outcome of the grant was a website of embedded reference designs covering sensors, motors, motor drivers, LCD displays, keypad interfaces, and other embedded electronic circuits. This project was completed in fall 2009.
