Biography

Dr. Terence Cavanaugh is an associate professor in department of Educational Leadership, Counseling, and Instructional Technology at the University of North Florida. With degrees science education and instructional technology, his areas of research and development include curriculum design, instructional technology, assistive technology, and teacher education. As a university educator he instructs teachers in instructional technology, assistive technology, and educational design. Previous to his university work, he was a 6-12 classroom teacher for more than 15 years. He taught science and technology in the US, the Caribbean, Central America, the Middle East and China. Dr. Cavanaugh is a Fulbright Specialist and has also done educational consulting in reading technology, science, ESOL/ESL, exceptional student education, educational technology program development, and educational technology for school districts, the US Department of Energy, the state, colleges, and industry. The educational materials he has developed include a books on integrating media into science education, using electronic text in classrooms, websites for teachers on integrating technology into curriculum, and effective methods for teaching special needs learners.
