Nursing Anesthesia

The Nurse Anesthetist Program,  a clinical specialty track, is one of several Graduate Advanced Practice programs offered in the School of Nursing.  The anesthesia curriculum is an extremely rigorous academic and clinical undertaking. The program consists of nine (9) continuous semesters of full-time graduate studies. Upon completion, students earn a Doctorate of Nursing Practice.

The program is approved by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs. Graduates are eligible to take the National Certification Examination to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) as well as to obtain the ARNP (in nurse anesthesia) credential from the Florida Board of Nursing.

Clinical sites include both military and civilian healthcare facilities in the State of Florida. Sites include community private based hospitals, and two Level-I trauma centers.
