Areas of Expertise

Professor Adams' research and teaching interests are primarily in the areas of consumer behavior, retailing, ethics and public policy.  Professionally, he has served as an arbitrator in the Florida New Motor Vehicle Arbitration (i.e., "Lemon Law") for over 25 years.


Professor Adams holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from Jacksonville University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in business administration (marketing) from the University of Georgia, Athens.


Ronald Adams is a native of Jacksonville, Florida, married to Bettie McGowan Adams, and has one child, Michele Lea Adams-Lentz


In 2013, Dr. Adams received the Prime Osborne Award for outstanding scholarship.

Publications & Presentations

Professor Adams' research has been published in the Journal of Consumer Affairs, Business and Society Review, The Journal of Small Business Management,  and The International Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services.  He has over 35 refereed publications and approximately 50 conference proceedings.  Most recently, he has published articles relating to product defamation, retail employment practices, resale price maintenance, and product labeling.  He serves as an ad hoc reviewer for the International Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services.
