Eligible faculty members submit the Library Promotion Application Form to their supervisor. The supervisor submits the signed form to the Dean of Library. Candidates begin preparing their dossiers Interfolio. Dossiers must be consistent with BOT-UFF CBA: Article 22. | No later than June 1, 2022 |
Eligible library faculty vote for members of a Library Promotion Committee, votes are tallied by Library Administration. The Dean of the Library notifies committee members and sends list of committee members to Marianne Jaffee. | No later than August 3, 2022 |
Dean of Library notifies the library of those faculty members who have declared their candidacy. | No later than August 16, 2022 |
Candidate submits dossier to the Library Promotion Committee chair through Interfolio. The library faculty dossiers include letter of recommendations from both internal and external reviewers. After this date, no new material may be added to the dossier by the candidate except as provided below. | September 9, 2022 |
The candidate's supervisor submits through Interfolio a written assessment of the candidate's qualifications with reference to the University's promotion criteria for library faculty and library guidelines for application of those criteria and shall make a positive or a negative recommendation.
The supervisor shall meet with the candidate to give the candidate a copy of his/her written assessment and recommendation, prior to sending a copy to the Library Promotion Committee chair, to be shared with the other members of the committee and the Dean of the Library. |

Library Promotion Committee forwards dossier to Dean of the Library | November 14, 2022 |

Dean of Library uploads written assessment and recommendation in Interfolio. The Dean of the Library shall forward a copy of their assessment and recommendation to the candidate, the supervisor, and the Library Promotion Committee, to be shared with other members of the committee. Provost provides the candidate with final assessment and recommendation. The candidate may, within five days, respond in writing to the Provost's final assessment and recommendation, and may meet with the Provost during this five (5) day period. A copy of the Provost's final assessment shall be forwarded to the Dean of the Library, the candidate's supervisor and the Chair of the Library Promotion Committee, who shall share it with other members of the committee. | No later than March 17, 2023 |

The President or designee shall notify the library faculty member in writing as soon as possible, but no later than ten (10) days after the date of the decision. A copy of the President's decision shall be sent to the Provost, the Dean of the Library, the candidate's supervisor, and the Chair of the Library Promotion Committee, who shall share it with the other members of the committee. | No later than April 21, 2023 |

Additional Note: This timeline is a derivative of the University Promotion and Tenure Timeline distributed online. This library promotion timeline is intended to follow Article 22 -Promotions for Library Faculty, in the CBA 2017-20. The timeline excludes all references to department chairs and the tenure process, which are not applicable to the library faculty.
