UNF Foundation Competitive Merit-Based Scholarships

Incoming students can apply for the Foundation's competitive merit-based scholarships listed below. To be considered, you must provide:

  • Résumé
  • One letter of recommendation (from a teacher, employer, counselor, etc.)
    • Note: If the person writing the recommendation letter prefers to send the letter directly to UNF, please have them send it to pathways@unf.edu and include the name of the student in the body of the email.

  • Personal statement – a one-page narrative designed to give the reviewers a picture of you as an individual. The statement should address:
    • What is most appealing to you about UNF?
    • What details of your life (your history, experiences, etc.) set you apart from other candidates?
    • How has your work and/or volunteer experience shaped you?

Submit documents as email attachments to pathways@unf.edu and include your N-number in the email. Only complete applications will be considered. By submitting one application, you will be considered for all scholarships you qualify for. If you have additional questions about these requirements, contact  pathways@unf.edu

For PRIORITY consideration, submit all required materials by October 15, 2017. After this date, applications will be reviewed on a funds-available basis.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Current UNF students are not eligible to receive these scholarships.
  • Students may be required to complete a scholarship interview and will be contacted via UNF email if needed.
  • Students are only eligible to receive one UNF merit-based scholarship. However, students who already received an automatic scholarship (like the Presidential Scholarship) can submit documents to be considered for a possible scholarship upgrade.
  • Scholarship offers and related communication are e-mailed to the student’s UNF email.
  • The rSAT minimum scores listed in the criteria below reflect SAT scores from March 2016 or after. The SAT minimum scores reflect SAT scores prior to March 2016.

The scholarship qualifications listed below reflect anticipated standards and award values for the 2018-2019 incoming class. Minimum qualifications and award amounts are subject to change.
