Next Steps for First Time in College
Let's get the ball rolling! This site will guide you through the final steps of the admission process and answer all of your burning "what’s next" questions. Ready to work your way down the rest of the checklist? Let's go!
After you have been admitted, it is important to check your UNF e-mail frequently! Your e-mail is accessible through the myWings portal.
If you have not logged into the system before, select “Login Help.” Follow the prompts to verify your information, obtain your student ID (N number) and log into the ITS self‐service page. From this page you will be able to create a password.
Return to the myWings homepage and log in with your student ID number and password. Access to your email can be found from the icon in the right‐hand corner.
Not sure where to start? UNF provides a lot of great technology tools for students. Check out the Tech Toolkit
to learn about them.
Step One - Secure Your Spot!
You can sign up for New Student Orientation through your myWings account. Registering for orientation is the only way to lock in your seat in our freshman class and is equivalent to accepting your admittance to UNF. Congratulations! You're officially an Osprey!
myWings > What’s Next > Register for Orientation
Orientation is mandatory for all first-time-in-college students. If at any time you decide you do not want to attend, please contact us so we can make your seat available for another student.
Step Two - Update Your Student Records
If you are a Florida current, be sure to declare your Florida residency to receive in-state tuition rates! Not a Florida resident? No problem - move on to Step Four.
myWings > Student Records > Student Self Service > Admissions > Residency Declaration
You are required to submit proof of immunization against measles, mumps and rubella in order to register for classes at UNF. You will not be allowed to register for classes until your immunization forms are received and cleared by UNF’s Medical Compliance Office. Contact the UNF Medical Compliance Office at (904) 620‐2175 with any questions or concerns.
myWings > Student Records > Student Self Service > Upload Student Documents
Step Three - Clear Your Account Holds Before Orientation
Campus Clarity is a campus safety program all students must complete. It takes about 2 hours and needs to be done at least 48 hours prior to Orientation
. It can be found through the “Holds” tile in myWings
We have a math and writing placement tests available that all students will need to complete prior to attending Orientation. They can be found by clicking your Canvas tile in myWings
Be sure to check and clear the registration holds on your “Holds” tile in myWings
prior to attending your Orientation sessions. Remember, it may take up to 2 – 3 business days for a hold to clear, so if you just completed Campus Clarity, give it a day or two to officially clear.
Step Four - Financial Aid
Step Five - Connect With Us!
Students living on campus are required to purchase a Meal Membership through UNF Dining Services. If you do not select one, you will be automatically granted the largest meal plan available.
Meal plans are also available for non-resident students, and can be purchased by following the same steps below.
myWings > Student Tools > Meal Memberships
These course sequence guides
provide a term-by-term sample schedule for undergraduate academic programs at the University of North Florida. These maps are designed to guide you in the selection of courses for each term. Following the sample schedule, and completing the mile marker courses at the appropriate point in your undergraduate career, will facilitate graduation in four years. The Osprey Map should be used in consultation with an academic advisor.
