Duties for the Training & Development Committee can include the following:


  • Create and coordinate professional development opportunities for the campus advisors (i.e. training during monthly AAC meetings, webinars, annual retreat, special advisor training sessions, etc.)
  • Recommend, catalog and maintain advisor training resources in collaboration with the Director of Academic Support Services
  • Promote membership and active participation in NACADA and FLACADA (i.e. coordinate conference attendees’ highlights for sharing with AAC, encourage involvement in commissions and interest groups, encourage involvement in Regional NACADA Mentoring Program, etc.)
  • Promote advising research and presenting at conferences and act as a resource for research efforts and preparing presentations
  • Maintain development materials on the AAC Canvas site
